Loved this little tent. My other one man has internal poles so I really saving weight is nice. Packs down really small. Laying in tent on air mattress and in sleeping bag I find the material is a little close to my face. A Y shaped stick propped under guide line fixed it for me.
1 person non-pro version. Feels thin like you're going to rip it, but it held up fine on some tough terrain. Got rained on while setting it up, inside stayed dry. Used a tarp as a footprint because it was muddy, water puddled between tarp and bottom of tent, but the water never seeped through. No tears or rips. Setup takes longer than a normal poled tent but worth the trade off for weight saving. Make sure you get it dialed in well and tighten all guylines and corners down evenly and no water will pool on the rain fly. Had near 0 condensation and it was cold and camped near water. I sleep on a 4?pad, w pillow and REI magma 30 quilt. I'm 5?1 210lbs. At times the mesh inner layer was right in my face but otherwise very comfortable plenty of room to sleep w a good sleep system and everything stayed dry. For the price I doubt you can beat the weight saving unless you go the hammock route. But for us side sleepers, unless you're ready to spend Zpack money, this is the move. It's good to go.
This little tent is fabulous! I put it up for several days in horrible rain and wind and the only place it had issues was the little pull outs on the fly as others have stated! I had one little drop of water at each end. I can seal that no problem! It took the wind like a champ! No issues there at all. I needed a light backpacking tent for climbing up these mountains. I'm getting on in years and have to keep my pack as light as possible. The true weight on my digital scale is 2.2oz! I am thrilled. I can sit up and I don't feel confined like I do in a bivy bag! Slept in it the other night and left the fly door open on one side. Shear bliss! The price just nails this purchase!!!!
I purchased this tent for a 200 mile hike on PCT. This is for the 1 man tent. It was lightweight, reviews were good and was 1/3 the cost of similar tents. The integrated rain fly has taken a bit of getting used to but I have been able to pitch it easily most anywhere. Granite can be a challenge but you can use rocks to help secure. The tent stakes were a bit light so I bought a heavier set, hook types are good for the 5 corner steaks and I used a heaver one to secure the hiking pole. Although we did not have heavy rain it did keep me dry during a light sprinkle and it dried out quickly the next morning. I am concerned that with a heavy rain, and wind- water may come in under the fly. Practice setting up- getting proper placement of steaks and tension is important. Watch some of the review videos to see some of the helpful tricks. Overall it performed well in this first trip. I was usually able to set it up in under 10 minutes. I did run across another hiker with the exact tent except it was made by a different company.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect based on the numerous reviews of this tent from the variety of resellers from whom it can be purchased. I am pleasantly surprised by the product I've received.First, the seams all came taped. I only applied a small amount of sealant to several small stitching areas which appear to have been stitched AFTER the location had been sealed (??). I tested it in a heavy rain storm, and only a very little bit of water accumulated at each of the head and foot ends of the tent. I actually attribute this to a less than ideal pitch (because of the rockiness of the location that night) and condensation. I don't believe the tent was leaking at all.Second, wind was a concern, as it would be for any trekking-pole or other tension-based tent. I set this up in windy conditions on both nights, by myself without much difficulty. I will say that site selection is especially critical with this tent to get the best performance, but once it was up, it did not budge during several hours of high winds (30-50mph)Despite temps in the teens, I experienced ZERO water inside the tent due to condensation, which I was fully expecting. Granted, my pitch that night was MUCH better than the first (see photo).I think this tent would be tight for two people (I'm 5'8", 190lbs), but it is quite roomy for one, especially with the generous vestibules.I've also replaced the plastic "rams head" hooks connecting the vestibule doors to the front/back guy lines with metal equivalents since they are known to be a weakness of these tents. This tent is a very good value for such a lightweight shelter.
